Rite Aid: This is Your Moment. Managing Type II Diabetes, One Change at a Time

Patient education can be tricky, especially in a retail environment. At SmartStory, we partnered with Rite Aid and UPMC to produce a Type II Diabetes educational library that would be sent to prescribers of common A1C lowering medications. The goal of the series was to inform and guide patients toward a healthier lifestyle through clinically accurate education, practical tools, recommendations, and encouragement. We featured actual patients who told their stories, and delivered these videos via text message or email at the point of prescription with the patient’s enrollment.

The video above is the introduction to the series, giving the patient an idea of what they can expect for the next six weeks. The videos are then delivered automatically via text message or email, and are personalized to the patient’s name. Below is a presentation outlining the program in greater detail.
